Entrepreneurship Cell at Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi organized a 2 Day Summit-cum-Panel Discussion- Startup @ FMS on August 25th & 26th, 2007. The seminar was focussed to understand the need for Indians to venture out into the world of entrepreneurship, build intellectual property and create wealth, which hopefully will find its way back into the system to fund more start-ups.
The summit was divided into two sessions:
1. Assessment of start-ups – Lessons in adapting to change
2. Beyond Borders: Entrepreneurship in the global context & the entrepreneurship climate in India.
The summit was followed by a one-hour panel discussion on “Challenges in Scalability & Globalization for a Start-Up”.

He Spoke about why people should join start-ups, journey of Dolcera, gave few of his personal Mantras: Fail, but Fail Quickly! and how failure is a guarantee for the first time, but one must fail with a strong story.
Mr. Mohit Malik, Head, Leadership and Strategy Practice, Anoova Consulting
He gave us insights about some Entrepreneurs like Vinod Khosla, Hardeep Singh Bedi, Mike Moritz, Jyoti Randhawa, who have made big in life after facing loads of turmoils. He gave statistics on how a chunk of venture capitalists funding fail and how they loose money maximum.
Mr. Ajay Garg, Founder, Equirus Capital and MAPE Group
He talked about his own success stories, how people wanted to ride on the dotcom wave in his initial days. Also, he shared insights on how should one define success and what difference does MBA helps you in your entrepreneurship ventures. He also asked us to consider our options when we are stuck in the battle of “Risk Vs Career”
Mr. Rajit Pal Singh, Managing director and Co-Founder, Reach Potential Consultants
He gave us insights about HR- consulting in India and added a different dimension to the talk by asking the attendees to nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship with immense focus & doing out homework for need & feasibility analysis to the optimum. He also handled all queried related to the VC factor, as to how should we pitch to a VC? While talking about his key learning’s, he also spoke of how important it is to be in a “Beginner’s Mind” – state of being where we approach learning with no judgment, sensory & pre-conceived notion.
Mr. Tarun Bhalla, CEO, Building Blocks
He spoke of how building blocks was making big in changing the state of primary education in India through its consulting to various organizations regarding the quality of education in India. He gave us thorough insights regarding how one should evaluate opportunities before taking the final call.

He focussed on his journey: turning points, constraining and influencing factors. He also shared his experiences in Harvard University.
Mr. Satyan Mishra, Founder and CEO, Drishtee
An FMS alumnus Mr. Mishra gave valuable insights about delivering services and related information to the village community through Information Kiosks mentioning the vast difference between rural markets and the urban markets. He gave extensive information about education, women empowerment, micro finance, e-health, life insurance in Rural India.
