India presents a lot of unexplored opportunities waiting to be explored by visionaries. Funds are a big challenge in going forward with new ideas. At “5k Challenge” we dare you to overcome this difficulty.
Today, a host of profitable activities can be started in Rs.5000/- Be it a website which turns into a multi million dollar web property, or a fast food joint which turns into multinational brand. Rs.5000/- can be turned into a host of opportunities. Within rural India, it can mean two goats and a cheese business or a plantation of herbs.
We challenge you to develop a plan for a successful business starting with Rs.5000/-

Event Details
Round 1
- Teams are required to send a short presentation consisting of 5 slides, (excluding the title slide). Team name, institute name and details of name, email and contact number of team members should be provided on the title slide.
- The 5 slides should briefly touch upon the following details – Market Analysis, Operational strategy, Financial strategy and feasibility, Marketing strategy, Risk and threats.
- Please Note that the business idea should be feasible with a starting amount of Rs. 5000. The financial feasibility should be clearly demonstrated. Additional spreadsheet (only 1) may be attached to prove the same
- Deadline 9th February 2010, 23:59 pm.
- No registration required
Round 2
- 6 Final teams will be shortlisted based on there entries in the 1st round. The shortlisted teams would required to prepare a 5 page document detailing there idea.
- Deadline – 13th February 2010, 23:59 pm
Team Rules
- The event is open to students of Indian B-Schools
- Teams can consist of a maximum 2 people from the same institute.
- One person can only be a member of one team
- Only one entry is allowed per team
- There is no restriction on the number of teams per institute
Important Dates
- Deadline for first round - 9th February 2010, 23:59 pm
- Deadline for second round - 13th February 2010, 23:59 pm
Prizes
- Winner – Rs. 2000
- First Runner’s Up – Rs. 1000
